PMRP — Practical Malware Research Professional
TCM Security's practical malware analysis certification covering static and dynamic analysis, sandbox investigation, IOC extraction, and report writing — all assessed through a practical exam. Not DoD 8140 approved but TCM's practical certifications are well regarded in the community for genuine skill validation. At $499 including training it is significantly more accessible than GREM ($999 exam + ~$8,500 SANS course) while covering similar foundational ground. If you can't afford GREM training, PMRP is a solid first malware analysis credential. GREM still carries more weight with enterprise and government employers who recognize GIAC specifically.
