GIAC's new Applied Knowledge tier certification for penetration testing — 100% CyberLive hands-on exam with no multiple-choice component whatsoever. This is a significant departure from the standard GIAC format and directly addresses the long-standing criticism that GIAC certs are too MCQ-heavy to validate real offensive skill. Available standalone at $1,299 or for $499 with an active GIAC cert. DoD 8140 status pending as a newly launched cert. One to watch — if GIAC executes the Applied Knowledge tier well, GX-PT could become a strong alternative to OSCP in government environments.
