OpenText's (formerly Guidance Software) certification for the EnCase forensic platform — historically one of the most recognized tool vendor certs in digital forensics, particularly in law enforcement and large enterprise. Two-phase exam including a written component and practical exercise. Lifetime validity means no recertification burden. EnCase's market dominance in law enforcement means EnCE has real recognition in government forensics roles. Like all tool vendor certs it validates platform proficiency specifically, but EnCE has enough history and market presence to occasionally appear in job requirements. Worth having if EnCase is your primary tool.
