CompTIA's intermediate blue team certification targeting SOC analysts and threat detection roles. Covers threat detection, log analysis, vulnerability management, and incident response at a level above Security+ but below GCIH in technical depth. DoD 8140 approved and a natural step up from Security+ for those pursuing the government/contractor track. The performance-based questions add some practical element but it remains predominantly theoretical. A reasonable credential for SOC Tier 1-2 roles in enterprise environments where CompTIA certs are recognized, though CySA+ holders competing with GCIH or BTL1 holders will find the latter two carry more weight in practitioner-focused hiring.
