CWNE — CWNP Certified Wireless Network Expert
CWNP's elite wireless networking credential and the final step in the CWNP Wi-Fi Program. Unlike most certifications, CWNE has no exam — it is earned through a rigorous application process requiring: valid and current CWNA, CWSP, CWAP, CWDP, and CWISA certifications; three years of documented enterprise Wi-Fi implementation experience; three professional recommendations; and peer review by the CWNE Board of Advisors. The ~$500 application fee covers the Board review process. As of 2025, fewer than 400 practitioners globally hold the CWNE — the combination of exam prerequisites, experience requirements, and peer review make it one of the most exclusive credentials in networking. Listed on multiple DoD COOL systems (Army, Navy, Coast Guard, DoD Civilian) for credentialing assistance. Renewal requires 60 CE credits over 3 years with CWISA mandatory. The CWNE is recognized in the wireless industry as the definitive expert-level credential for enterprise Wi-Fi professionals.
