The certification name can cause confusion with GIAC's GSOM — CSOM is significantly cheaper at £1,999 vs GSOM's $949 plus SANS training costs, and is lifetime rather than 4-year renewal. At this price point, it is primarily positioned for corporate training rather than individual self-funded study.
