Covers internal audit methodology, governance, risk assessment, and control evaluation — not technology-specific but directly applicable to IT and security audit work. Not DoD 8140 approved. CIA is the audit profession's primary credential globally — more broadly recognized in audit departments than CISA, which is specifically IS audit. For GRC practitioners whose primary function is internal audit across multiple domains including IT, CIA is often the primary credential with CISA as a specialization.
