CHFI — Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator
EC-Council's forensics certification and the DoD 8140 approved option in the digital forensics space from that vendor. Covers broad forensics methodology including acquisition, analysis, and reporting across multiple evidence types. DoD 8140 approved which is its primary selling point — it gets you past government and contractor hiring filters that GCFE might not satisfy if only CHFI is listed. However, GCFE is generally considered more technically rigorous in the practitioner community, and CHFI carries the EC-Council reputation for broad coverage at the expense of depth. A practical cert to have for government/contractor roles, but GCFE or BTL1 will teach you more.
