Cisco's foundational networking certification and one of the most recognized IT credentials in the world. Covers routing, switching, network access, security fundamentals, and basic automation in Cisco environments. DoD 8140 approved. The baseline requirement for most network engineering and network security roles in Cisco-heavy environments — which is most enterprise and government networks. More technically demanding than Network+ with greater emphasis on hands-on Cisco IOS knowledge. The single cert replaced multiple previous CCNA specializations in 2020, making it a comprehensive foundation for any Cisco career path.
