CC — Certified in Cybersecurity
ISC2's entry-level certification designed to bring newcomers into cybersecurity, currently offered for free as part of ISC2's one million certified campaign. Covers foundational security principles, access controls, network security, and basic security operations — all at an introductory level. Not DoD 8140 approved and won't differentiate candidates in a hiring process on its own. Its main value is as a free starting point for career changers or students to demonstrate intent and basic awareness. Pair it with hands-on learning (TryHackMe, HTB, BTL1) to build actual skills alongside the credential.
